Is your child in grade 4-12? Do they want to compete in hunt seat or dressage, but don't own a horse? Are they looking for a fun, challenging team atmosphere? Join the On Course IEA Team!
NOTE: Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020-21 IEA season will begin in August, one month early.
The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) gives 4th-12th grade riders of all levels across the country an enjoyable, challenging, and nationally recognized way to compete. Shows are held during the school year starting in September, with postseason shows in March through May for those who qualify. Similar to collegiate circuits (IHSA & NCEA), horses and tack are provided by the hosting team, leveling out the competition and keeping costs down.
Our 2019-20 season was sadly cut short due to COVID-19, but we had a successful year! Our team had 24 riders this year, competing in every level from Intro to Open. Ten of our riders went on to semifinals, and two of our riders qualified for Zones. We hosted three shows this season in September, November, and February.
The On Course IEA Team offers both hunt seat and dressage. The team practices every Wednesday and Sunday (resuming Summer 2020 due to COVID-19). New riders are always welcome!
